My Musical Journey: The Story of The 5 Rings
Share
Hi, I'm Francisco Meza, aka CiscoKid, a guitarist and the creative force behind the album "The 5 Rings." Music has been my constant companion, guiding me through the highs and lows of life. Let me take you on a journey of how I became who I am today and how "The 5 Rings" came to be.
Discovering the Guitar in the Navy
My musical journey began at 18 years old while I was serving in the US Navy. Stationed in Guam onboard the USS White Plain AFS-4, I found solace in the strings of a guitar. It wasn't just an instrument; it was an extension of my voice, a way to express the emotions and experiences I encountered during my service. The guitar became my sanctuary, and I poured countless hours into mastering it.
The Inspiration Behind The 5 Rings
My album, "The 5 Rings," is a reflection of my life experiences, encapsulated in five distinct songs. Each piece tells a story, capturing different moments and emotions that have shaped me.
The Engagement Ring
"The Engagement Ring" is America's favorite cheesy love song, filled with red flags. It's a tale of love and excitement, but also a cautionary message. Every father should teach their son that emotions can cloud judgment, and when in love, red flags are often overlooked. This song is a reminder to stay vigilant and not let emotions blind you.
The Wedding Ring
Continuing the theme of red flags, "The Wedding Ring" is a love song about my past thoughts on unity and forming a family. It's a celebration of love and commitment, but also a reflection on how easily red flags can be missed in the name of unity.
The Suffer Ring
"The Suffer Ring" delves into the reality that sets in when the honeymoon phase is over. Strife and sexless marriages are more common than we often acknowledge, and this song addresses the hardships that many couples face. It’s a stark portrayal of the path to divorce.
The Boxing Ring
In "The Boxing Ring," I tackle the harsh realities of the Family Law boxing ring. Here, lies are told, retirement plans are stolen, and children are used as pawns. Vulnerable clients are taken advantage of by attorneys, and judges, often too scared to make tough decisions, favor the person who earns less money. This song captures the brutal and unforgiving nature of family law disputes.
The Empower Ring
I didn’t want to end the album on a negative note, so "The Empower Ring" addresses all the red flags from the first two rings, as well as the issues in "The Suffer Ring" and "The Boxing Ring." It's a song of resilience and empowerment, acknowledging past mistakes and hardships but ultimately rising above them. It’s about learning, growing, and finding strength in adversity.
The Journey Continues
Creating "The 5 Rings" was a transformative experience. Each song is a piece of my soul, a chapter in my story. Through music, I've found a way to connect with others and share my journey. As I continue to evolve as a musician, I remain dedicated to pushing boundaries and exploring new sounds. My guitar is my voice, and through it, I hope to inspire and uplift those who listen.
Thank you for joining me on this musical journey. I look forward to sharing more stories and melodies with you in the future.
